I get this when I try to run the game

"we have detected that one of the halo pc files is missing or corrupted. we recommend removing and reinstalling the game. (shaders\fx.bin)"

Yes, I have reinstalled the game numerous times.

This is on a fresh winxp install

Has anyone seen this and resolved it? I am reasonably sure it's something to do with my new 6800GT, because the game worked just fine with the rest of the hardware and a 5900XT. It could be a driver issue. But if anyone has had this same problem please give me some insight.

Thanks

I can't see how it's related to the card. If it says there's a file missing/corrupted, it's probably right. A simple solution, would be to install the demo, find the file you're missing from the demo folders and place it in the correct folder.

I appreciate your response, but that didn't help. Installed the demo and it does the same thing hehe.

I am downloading the 61.36 WHQL drivers right now and I will see if they work.

For anyone having the same problem (which I saw quite a few around the net), it appears to be a driver issue. I installed the 61.36 drivers and Halo plays very good.
