I ran 3dmark 2003 with the Geforce 2 MX 200 32Mb PCI I was using, and i got a score of 52 (no typo)

With my GT, I got this:

10368

Im amazed!

But I think i found a problem. Can anyone with a 6800 watch the Mother Nature benchmark in 03 and tell me their low fps? For some reason mine drops to 20-30fps some times, when the scene really doesnt appear to be that stressfull. Most of the time i was over 80 (some times over 120). Is this framerate drop normal?

Im using the 61.36 WHQL drivers and im running at stock speeds (for the GT OC) with DirectX 9.0b.

Besides that little quirk, im totaly blown away. I cant wait till i get some good looking games on this comp :D

the part where is pans up to the tortoise is a killer on my system. that is where i noticed the artifacting when I push my core to high on my GT. I can see flashing triangle glitches on the tortoise

the scenes its drops in are at the start when the camera rolls up from the water, all the tree's/turtle and everything else comes into view.. second low spot is camera change by turtle, next low is going up the little stream and the camera angle goes up past the trees.. then by the wall with the arch then possibly the next stream shot... have I watched that benchmark too many times??

Wow, I really need some games to play on this card!

I downloaded the Thief: Deadly Shadows demo and it looks and runs AMAZING. Much better than I expected. Then i tried Joint Operations... and it looks and runs bad, and its confusing :p

And I just played Firearms Half-Life at 1600x1200 8xSAA and 16xAF and my framerate was maxed at 99 the whole time... ive never seen anything quite like that. Im extremely impressed and I have barely even touched the surface of what this card is capable of. I also installed Dawn and Vulcan demos off the CD that came with the card. I cant believe Vulcan runs that good. Its perfect.

I cant wait till I get Battlefield and Vietcong back. Those are 2 games that benefit a LOT from AA and AF. I cant wait to play with both at 1600x1200 with a smooth framerate :D

Actually since its only a dx7 card.. it will only run the first test :)

52? I think my ram alone would have scored higher lol.

Still and again, a score of 52 makes me think it took long long time, lol ;)

my 5900nu hits over 110 FPS at the beginning of the nature test. Woot Woot LOL. :) But it goes down to about 9 FPS when zooming to the tortoise :(

DOH!! (In Homer J. Simpson's voice)

It'll be a cold day in hell when this benchmark actually runs smooth all the way through, on any system.

It wasnt my primary card :retard: :lol2:

My 9600 Pro err... had an incident and was put out of commission :|

The MX200 is just a backup card. It was either this or a TNT M64 16Mb... :bash: :D

Nvidias DX9 needs a bit of sharpening for this brand new card, I am in no doubt that this will happend due to driver upgrades in the future ...

I found a problem...

I installed the Far Cry Demo (demo 2) and it looks... bad? The water isnt reflective and the textures only work at LOW setting (anything higher and they are so blurry it looks like flat shading). The game runs smooth as butter, but if it looks like that, whats the point?

Anyone know whats wrong?

EDIT: Ok its only some textures that look bad. But they are the ones that cover most of the cliffs and hills so the backgrounds look pretty bad. This is wierd :screwy:

Since the demo was from an early build of the game it may not be compatible with the 6800 cards.

I agree, the Far Cry demo sucks, but the full game is awesome. Im playing through it a third time (easy, challenging, now realistic). Call of Duty was also excellent.
