Hi guys, Im hoping someone here can help me out with some questions. Seeing all the 6800 screenshots running in 1600x1200 made me wonder if my computer could handle it at decent frames per second.

So I loaded up Half-Life (Going through it again before HL2 comes out) and put the resolution to 1600x1200.When I got in game I noticed I was getting a lot more FPS than I was with 1024x768. I have 8XAA on through Riva Tuner, 8XAF on through Rivatuner and Trilinear on. I wanted to make sure so I recorded a quick demo then played it through using the in game benchmarking tool and well the results are baffling me.

1024x768 8XAA 8XAF 43.152 FPS
1600x1200 8XAA 8XAF 61.910 FPS

Im realling hoping someone can shed some light on this, I did check the screenshots from both and they are indeed doing AF and AA. The only thing different I can think of is I have 85Hz being forced in 1024 but I beleive 1600 runs at 60. Specs Below:

61.71 Drivers
Pentium 4 2.4C @ 3.0
1GB PC4000 OCZ DDR
Abit IC7-G Mobo
Gainward Geforce 3 Ti550 Golden Sample (240/500 @ 250/550)
Audigy 2ZS
400 Watt Antec

Turn off Vsync

Its likley that the 85fps are getting halved, since it cant reach 85fps... Turn off vsync, and your problem is solved.

Thats the thing, Vsync is off.

EDIT:
Upon looking at the screenshots it looks like the 1600 ones arent doing 8X. Heres a comparison:
1600 (http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Biff00a/c4a10004.jpg)
1024 (http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Biff00a/c4a10005.jpg)
Anyone know why?

Im guessing its hidden since its only in Riva Tuner. Heres a list of whats available:
2x1
1x2
2x2
2x
Quincunx
4x
4x 9-tap
4xS
6x
8x

I don't think the ti500 can handle 8x AA at 1600x1200 maybe its reverting to a lower level
