Check out Chai's Radeon 9800 Pro -> XT mod guide at ARP!

Just curious, how hot is your card running at that speed? With a VGA Silencer, my 9800 Pro-turned-XT runs at 80 deg C at stock XT speeds after playing Far Cry. I've since flashed it back to a Pro thinking that 80 deg C was too hot.

Zoomy, do you have the Pro PCB or the XT pcb?? I have the pro pcb, and i dont know if i can flash successfully to XT so i just didnt bother. OCs nicely though. Right now it's running at... 49.6C idle. I am taking these temperatures with a external thing, attatched to the back o the card, right at the back of the GPU. Never got a chance to check it while gaming though. I will do that in a bit.

This should help you out (taken from the link given in the previous post, so thank him) http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?location=3&var1=92&var2=0
I have a R360 core with 128mb of hynix memory on the 9800 pro pcb. I'm gonna take a look at some of the bios for my card. Thanks previous poster.. (im in edit mode, i cant see your name without going back)

Edit 2 -
They recommend buying a new cooler before trying this, so im gonna try to get my hands on a VGA silencer before i do this. Thnx for the link though.

i have the r350 :( but i overclock and i get that nutty snow when i go too high which is odd. i overclock nvidia all the time, but i am new to ati. is this normal? i have a diofferent cooler on there too. hmm... i get snow ONLY with certain weapons in halo and far cry, otherrwise it never has a problem
