what is it with catholic bishops and children ?
A vast cache of child pornography and photos of young priests having sex has been discovered at a Roman Catholic seminary, officials said Monday, leading politicians and church leaders to demand a criminal probe and the resignation of the bishop in charge.
Bishop Kurt Krenn, who oversees the diocese, refused to step down, however, dismissing the images as a "childish prank."
Leaders of the Catholic diocese of St. Poelten where the seminary is located, about 50 miles west of Vienna, spent much of the day in an emergency meeting.
The seminary's director, the Rev. Ulrich Kuechl, resigned along with his deputy, Wolfgang Rothe, the diocese said after the meeting. It did not elaborate.
As many as 40,000 photos and an undisclosed number of films, including child pornography, were found a year ago on computers at the seminary, the respected news magazine Profil reported.
It published several images purportedly showing young priests and their instructors kissing and fondling each other, and said others showed them engaging in orgies and sex games. The child porn came mostly from Web sites based in Poland, the magazine said.

Or perhaps they shouldn't have so much unquestioned authority/influence? But I guess that's how a lot of churches/faiths work.

Not that I can see why they are not allowed to get married.
In some forms of Christianity Bishops/Monks are expected to remain celibate as they are expected to do all the soul searching/better understanding of God/etc. Priests on the other hand are expected to be a conduit between people and their faith. Being married is seen as advantage as it means that the Priests have a better understanding of real life problems and can so be more of an aid to their flocks.

No it wont. You then are going against the tenants of the bible. Just look at what you are saying here. We have a problem with sex and your situation is to let them have it. So now if they were to have girlfriends then they would be involved with sex outside of and that is forbiden in the bible. Do you understand what I am saying here?
There two views to relieve sexual frustration but only one works.
1. Have sex but that is a temporary and shallow fix.
2. Build meaningfull relationships in your life that give you a sense of purpose.
Why many men get addicted to pornography is due to isolation in other words a lack of meaningfull relationships with people. If you have nothing in your life but your self to give meaning to your self then you have no choice to turn inward but you have nothing to offer to you self but what you create in your own mind. This is why many men turn to pornography. It is a short term way to create a safe but isolated relationship.
Now the exact cause of these problems in the Catholic church is beyond me. I don't know enough to intelligently comment on them. Still it seems to me that letting them have sex with others but condeming them for having sex with others or them selves is highly hypocritical and illogical.

Secondly you act as if only Catholic priests are doing this. It is a human problem. If I said what is wrong with homosexuals and children you would blast me for saying that.

Yes it exists in the homosexual AND hertrosexual communitys and if you are saying that it isnt as big in the hetro community you are blind. There are 14 yr old girls with 20 and 30 yr old boyfriends. there are 15 yr olds with kids from 40 yr olds I have a girl Im going to be rooming with who just turned 17 and she has a kid with a 28 yr old. I think it is sick and no diff than the homosexual relationships with kids.
