I seem like one of the few that was able to only go as high as 380/1000.
When I went to 390/1000 I started seeing white specs on the screen.
So I went back to 380. Kinda suprised me when so many people are doing 400 no problems. 380 and 390 both produced the same temps of 83c when running HDR demo.

my first card was bfg, i could only muster 385mhz on the core, I sent it back

I can be wrong but dont think there are any gurantees when it comes to OC

nope, of course not, but my CC guarantees me I can send my card back, hehe

Did you send it back to BFG directly or to the store?
And what reason did you give for exchanging it for another one?

I sent it back to outpost.com. i just said i changed my mind. they don't charge no restocking fees

390 here without artifacts, it is a keeper for me. I actually experimented some with my handy pencil :). Had core voltage up to a wooping 1.57v from 1.32v which only made it go up to 400mhz artifact free. Still an awesome card as far as I am concern but it is not a high overclocker compared to many others. Now the memory overclocks up to 1.15ghz which is pretty good as far as I am concern.

Mine got to 420 without artifacts. But I kept it stock, becuase I don't consider gaining 3 FPS worth pushing the card that much.

It's all the luck of the draw. Don't matter too much anyway. If a 370/1000 gt chokes on something, a 400/1100 gt is gonna choke just as hard.

Strange I was able to clock up to 400 without artifacts. I think I had
the fan option turned on. I ran HDR for 30min the gpu topped at like 84c to 85c, but mostly stayed at 84c.

So looks good. As soon as it decides to get hot in the northeast I can do some serious hot room testing.

This summer has been very cool.

Room temp was 28c and ambient temp 40c

Yep, that's why mine's at 370/1000 now. But of course, even that is overclocked!

The 6800GT OC is tempting but I will try and hold out for the Ultra version. With my luck I will get a card that won't even get 5Mhz more!

cant believe you sent it back for that..even if you get it to OC well..it not like it going to make a huge difference maybe 5 FPS...and CPU will still bottleneck

LOL...as if the 6800GT at 380 isn't fast enough... :lol2:

The GT at 370 is mighty fast and I will probably keep it there for now. I erased all my pencil marks ;), I just can't see overvolting .25v for a lousy 10mhz. Strange is that there was no inbetween voltages, it was either 1.32v (stock) or 1.57v. Time to just have fun with it . . .

Awww, it's a waste to keep it stock. :) If I had a GT right now that was a bad overclocker, I'd pay you to swap cards. (mag)

I'm really surprised, I've had 3 of these cards and all of them would auto detect minimum of 416core/1.09 mem (only 1) the other two did 420/1100
and 423/1100
