First batch of Gainward cards will likely be green pcb with stock cooler reference design just like all the rest of the 6800U cards. The custom stuff won't come out til mid to late August.

damn i was hoping they would be red like on that german site. oh well i "might* get lucky and get a rev 2 or whatever. but either way the 1.6ns memory was the clincher :nanahump:

have you gone above 400/1100 ? the 1.6ns ram should do 1200 according to the gainward site. 425/1200 would be real nice !

i can get it to 420/1.7 on air. got nowhere to host a pic but if u like i can send u a screenshot of my desktop showing the oc is valid.

Lots of peeps received Gainward Golden BS GT cards here in Norway, all were stock cooler and refrence design. No extra overclocking, no "gold" in them ;)

But they did shell out extra 400 NOK or about 55 USD

The Gainward GT at NTCW is not a GS card, it's the standard version that presumably got rejected as a GS due to poor overclocking, hence the reason it's so cheap.

I couldn't either hehe. I looked at different sites and downloaded the product catalog, and there's no mention of a non-GS GT; only a non-GS 6800.

In my past experience, Gainward OEM cards have been clocked lower than retail versions with the same product name. It would only make sense that this low-priced GT is a slower version, otherwise the price would be way too good to pass up.

The GS cards are generally priced a little higher than competitors' standard reference cards. If you look at NCIX.com, which has some of the best prices in Canada, their GT GS costs $661.05, and it doesn't ship until the end of month.

Also, why would NTCW.com not mention "Golden Sample" in the name of the GT card when it's shown in the description of a 5700 below it? It just doesn't add up that the GT GS could be had for so cheap.
