Yo guys I really need help...I wanted to buy RAdeon x800 XT PE b4 I saw that u can Flash 6800 Into 6800Ultra...IS that true? CAn u really Flash GT into Ultra...IF so i will prolly buy GT and flash it coz it is much cheaper...
But i still wanna go for XT since i got 5950U... :nanahump: (spit) :retard: (mag) :) :wong: (newb

without even flashing the bios and with a little overclock you can easily reach ultra speeds and performance

Well, the thing is that you're better off just overclocking to ultra speeds and leaving it like that. There's really no reason to actually flash the bios since there's a small amount of risk involved.

Well you do get more voltage to the core allowing for higher overclocks, but that's about it really.

Yeah, but when 95% of the GT's clock to Ultra or more already there's no reason for more voltage. And flashing doesn't even give that much of a boost.

Gives a .1v increase i think, which can help a lot... From what i've seen on the forums, ~20mhz extra??

Go for the 6800 Ultra dude.. I just came from the ATI boat, 9800XT and I tell you the IQ of the new 6800 Ultra is better and being like head to head with the X800XT and having better IQ the choice is clear.. ULTRA BABY..
Forceware is also much nicer set of drivers and more functional, ATi is still using the Design team from Murmansk for the Catalyst.
