Are the molex connectors CONNECTED to anything other then the vid card? The Primary molex on the 6800 MUST have nothing else on that line.

Some people reported unstable Geforce if CPU overclocked , just for a test try returning it to Stock.

hiya, registered on these forums just to help you guys out :)

i,ve seen a lot of people with this problem, including myself, but i think i have found the answer.

ITS THE RAM!!!!!!!

I stripped my videocard apart trying to solve this problem, and when I saw this crappy foam stuff transferring the heat from my ram to the aluminum I whipped out the as5 and have never seen this problem since. THAT IS ALL I CHANGED, NO OTHER SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE CHANGES!!! not sure if that voids the warranty, but I think its worth getting your video card to work

Is that crap foam stuff like really soft (like cream), because my 6800 ultra has this stuff seeping from the left side under the heatsink.

not really creamy, more like playdough or something, and it had fabric strand running through it, its really fun to play with now that its out of my vc :)

actually your right, it is like playdough (white), i might try your idea and try to remove it.

S-media (generic) geforce 6800 ultra, exactly like the reference model.

csnake, where did you get your S-Media card from?

I live in Australia and I have one of the S-Media 6800U's.
