He was burned while practicing for a 24 hour Le Mans race on Saturday. Just some moderate burns to his face and legs, he's going to be alright and shouldn't miss any of the Nextel Cup races.

His car spun out, then caught fire after a few seconds, then exploded a few more seconds later with him still in it. From the reports, it looked much worse than it actually was, and he is going to be fine after the burns heal. From what I saw on sportcenter, it looked pretty bad. There was also footage from his on-board camera inside the car, it showed flames pretty much covering him.

<--- not really a racing fan, just happened to catch the .. uhm... highlight.

Yeah, I've seen that video a few times today on the news. They have the camera showing him in the car with the entire car filled with flames.

I can't believe that he didn't get burned worse than he did. I guess those suits they were do a pretty good job of protecting them.
