Honestly, I don't know why allstarshop keeps obtaining quantities of these cards but seemingly noone else does. Seriously, they've had them on and off now for the last month and a half. WTF makes them so special? :screwy:
Actually, I nearly did auction off my XT here last week. I'm not sure I'm completely comfortable with doing it though since I don't know how long I'd have to go before I could obtain a 6800U. They aren't exactly growing on trees. :)
Plus, I'm not sure about the speed thing still. The 6800U seems to have caught up, or nearly so, in FarCry. But it took those sm3.0 speed boosts to do it. Not every game is going to support that, so in a way it does kinda seem like the XT is a little bit faster still. Decisions, decisions... ;)
it seems as though ati (and nvidia) are making their cards available first and foremost to system builders and THEN to retail stores...
dell seems to have no shortage of these components...

I can tell you that if I had paid retail for the card I would've auctioned it off already. It'd be a no brainer then... But since I allowed myself to be taken to the cleaners on it I'm not sure it's worth the trouble or the risk to auction the card off when I may not make more than about $200 out of the deal.
Plus, I'm still probably the only guy in MT with an XT. :p
So there's a bit of "prestige" there so to speak.
yah i kinda figured you would wanna hang on to it for the whole "rarity" factor
I remember you saying that often enough lol...
do check out and see if the ICEQ II cooler can be bought for your card though... as I mentioned on IRC... guru3d seems to be doing good oc's with it and dropping stock temps a fair deal too

Omfg It's $949 Now!@!#$!$@ That means some idiots are actually buying it!!
PS: before you give some BS about "some people can afford it", stop. I can afford that too, but one of the reasons I have money is because I am not an idiot with it :P The owner of my company is worth $30 million and the guy bargain shops, believe it or not!

$949? Phew some idiots buy almost $1000, it is a waste of money, in few months people will be better off buy dual 6800 Ultra PCIE with new motherboard with dual x16 PCIE slots for less than $900.

What's really scary is NV and ATI observing the fact that people will buy their stuff for those prices! Don't set a precedent lol!
thats horrible...u could build a decent system for that price.

for that price & lack of SM 3.0 support & no video encoder??

:rofl now it $999.00 :rofl
lol since ati's still selling 9800XT's from their website at $499 i guess it'd be reasonable to sell X800 XT's at $999. You can't beat that free ground shipping though!

Try that. About 1100 US dollars, not including shipping.
If you wait two months you'll notice there will be no lack of SM3.0 anymore..
and here in Taiwan where I'm shopping, all available X800Pro's have VIVO..weird...

That different, it have watercooling, X800 XT do not have watercooling. Watercooling is very expensive. :angel2:
