The computer I installed UT2004 has 2 monitors, but only one activated in Windows XP, the Viewsonic 22".
The 2nd monitor a Sony 21" has worked great together with it for several moths, switching back and forth, or a dual screen setup with extend desktop, no problems what so ever.
installing UT2004...
I installed the UT2004 today, 5.6GB on the hard disk, upgraded to the latest patch, then with the "play" cd i the player started the game.
I set all the graphics-options in UT2004 on max and 1280x960, then i played single player DM, not online, It looked great at 30-40 fps and 6AA, 16AF.
Then I was satisfied that it worked, happy as a easter bunny forgot to exit the game, before trying to play online. :banghead:
Disaster...
once I pressed "Join" nothing more happnened... as probably Zonealarm stopped it, and showed a message asking me to allow it to access internet, but it would not show...
I waited a while and then tried the Alt-tab, windows key, Esc-key, nothing helped...
Then I pressed the power button once, then the system responded, and it looked like UT2004 woke up from the moment 22 state, but then windows restarted.
When it started the UT2004 "play" cd was still in the player, and spun up and down during the Windows XP start, then the 22" screen went blank, and after a while no more hard disk activity.
Starting windows XP...
Then I took out the cd, and pressed the power button once, then restarted Windows XP, then the 22" screen went blank again...
Then I turned on my 21" screen and there was Windows XP, fully started... great
next step i figured would be to extend the desktop using both 21" and 22" monitors, it worked, then i selected the 22" as the only one, and that worked too... great.
With a working windows i then thought it would be a secure move shut down windows and let it save it, for the next startup of windows.
jezus help me, i´m in the twilight zone...
the 22" screen went blank again, switched to the 21" and there is windows again, but now when I try to extend the desktop the 21" turns into the extended desktop, but just a blank 22".
tried a few more restarts, same thing... i´m in the twilight zone.
Any one got a clue of what to do ?
