I could be wrong but I thought that PS2.0 shadows quality would be improved in patch 1.2 ? I'm using all the graphics settings maxed out and granted the shadows look great on trees , rocks etc...but on my weapon say M-16 the shadows from the trees still look a bit blocky. Is there some custom settings that I can use to change the quality of shadows on my gun ?

Thanks for your help

The shadows in FarCry uses PS2.0  thats news to me ..

anyway i read about this in some IQ comparasion .. the blocky shadows seems to be an issue with patch 1.2 for Radeon & FX cards .

This was the case with FarCry 1.1 patch as well; yes I believe FarCry uses PS2.0 on NV35 hardware. You can also check in the system.cfg file that engine uses Directx9 for rendering....

I dont have any shadow problem on my 5950 with patch 1.1 .

& yes FarCry uses PS2.0 for the lighting not the shadows AFAIK .
