Thats the "DARK LEVEL", just hit F to turn on the flashlight! ;) Just kidding btw.

What version 1.1, 1.2? Using dx9.0c?

I thought L was for the light ?? lol

I would recommend uninstalling those, then running driver cleaner in safe mode. then reinstall 61.76. it should fix it. i had a similar issue once before and that method solved it.

While my experience isn't that bad I am definitely experiencing problems with my BFG6800 GT and the Far Cry demo.

The first thing I noticed is that the water looked very strange. It didn't have the realistic reflective surface as it did with my 9700 Pro. It looked more like blue semi-transparent milk. After playing a bit, I noticed some of the textures looked strange as well. For instance, where I expected to see ground in some places it was solid black.

I ran Driver Cleaner/Cab cleaner before installing the card and the 61.76 drivers.

Keep in mind the demo is from an older build of the game.

I'm having those same problems with the demo as well. I tried a fix from the Far Cry support website (adding a couple of lines to a file in the game folder), but it did nothing. I'm chalking it up to the demo being an older version, and have the retail version on order from Newegg.

Version 1.0 of full retail FarCry doesn't work with the 6800 series, I'm not surprised the demo has problems.

Buy the game, it is good, then upgrade to 1.1/1.2 :)
