Not sure; download everest and check the voltage readings in there. If the voltage is too much lower than the normal listed (i'd give it a 7%~ off max) then it could very well be your psu. Peace,
i've downloaded everest but how do i see my volt lines?

Also, I have a wonder- is Windows XP 32bit the only OS these freezes occur in? Has anyone tried using windows xp x64 or win2k with nf3+6800? Peace,

I am having exactly the same thing! 370-375 is the maximum for the gpu. Sure it is not a coincidence... Think I am gonna buy an Abit kv8 pro.
Do you have experience with the DFI k8t800-alf board?
would avoid the DFI alf, go for the pro instead.
For those of you who had 0 problems with the 66.X s, XG just released their version (yes it's an old driver, i know). Screw BF2 shadows, they look crappy anyways;

Also if people could please tell me if wink2k/winxp x64 also gives the freezing bug I'd much appreciate it :) Peace,

I want to add that 6600/GTs do this too. My XFX 6600GT AGP on my GA-K8NS (Nforce 3 250 A2 chipset revision) did this until I set the 2d and 3d speed to the same level:

I don't know if anybody has already suggested this, sorry if they did.

BFG uses 1.4v so it is easy that way... If use 1.4v I also reach 417mhz but don't want to damage the card with that.
Wrong, only the Ultras come with a default 3d voltage of 1.4v. My BFG 6800GT OC came with 1.3v default and 370/500 clock speeds.

this is what everest says:
CPU core 1,55 V
+3,3V 3,26 V
+ 5 V 5,11 V
+ 12 V 11,78 V
GPU core 1,48 V
GPU Vcc 3,27 V
GPU AGP VDDQ 1,48 V
GPU FB VDDQ 2,52 V
Is this good or bad?
Hm.
Did the newest drivers fix it? They did for me.
As I said, as of 77.76 the stuttering is finally gone for me :) :)

bad luck for me... :thumbdwn:
...i already ordered a msi k8t neo2-f.
You can do 420/1140 with an nf3 board? Good for you. Could you post a pic of your card? Which rev. is it? It is written below the cooler on the bottom of the card.
Yeah, it's pretty cool also, around 52-53 idle :)

That's it, I can check which revision when I get home.

As for the GPU stuff, I have no idea :s Peace,

Why? (Just curious.)

You use 1.4v, don't you (read something like that a few pages back)?
It is a lot different that way. :)

It does happen in WinXP 64.

Yes, I never heard of any 6800GT that didn't handle 1.4v, and I'm a strong believer in getting the most out of my hardware so :)
I could do 400/1100 on 1.3v but not much more. I've also applied Arctic Silver 5 on the GPU which brought the temperature down a couple of degrees, and several
under load.
what to pick?
MSI K8T Neo2-F or Epox 9NDA3J?

check out dfi-street.com
just keyword search the board
if not there, think i remember alot of issues with that board, being meant for foreign markets mostly, so on so on. i'll edit with links if time permits

Tried that some days ago but couldn't find anything.
edit: just found it... oh..., I'm not getting one of those, that is for sure. :thumbdwn:
Is there an alternative to the Abit kv8 pro, what do you think?
Sorry for the offtopic. :)

Sorry for the offtopic. :)
not really offtopic, as everyone with the "issue" is switching to via.
for the 754s the abit is the only 800pro choice that makes sense for the OC inclined, unless you go with the ABIT Pro-Third Eye which i believe is newer.
i'm still waiting on the ULi 1695, s939 w/ 8x agp,16x pci-e. the san diego and venice cores have better mem controllers anyway. guess im a glutton for punishment nVidia, will keep this card a little longer. if it doesnt work then without stutter i will never buy another nVidia product again, for myself or any of my customers.

Yeah. Kind of interesting that I don't have this stutter-issue at all. My games run perfectly at default clocks.
I just cannot oc that well. I mean in D3D.

MSI K8T Neo2-F or Epox 9NDA3J?
Though I have an MSI gfx I'd choose the Epox board. :)

I just got the 9NDA3+ and though I've only used it for about 20 minutes, it's amazing. I highly recommend the + over the J, for nothing more than the extra SATA.
is there a via + sp2 problem?

I can tell you that the ASUS A8V Deluxe does not have that problem and it has a VIA chipset. Thank God I got the ASUS A8V Deluxe:D
Then again I never cared much for MSI myself.
My system is more stable and faster now then it ever was when I had my Nforce 3 chipset board :D
