Wow. Just days after the Doom3 benchmarks come out, everywhere not charging $450+ for a 6800GT including eVGA.com are now sold out of them. If you want a 6800GT, best get in line ;)

PHEW! I just ordered mine from evga.com on Monday! I was going to wait for a bit and do a little more reading up on it but I guess I made the right choise. It really is the best video card around though.

I literally just bought my evga 6800gt yesterday and it arrived today :D. Looks like my timing was perfect :)

heh, this is funny. I bought my eVga a few weeks ago, when everyone was one the BFG kick. Then they saw the 90 day upgrade deal from eVga, and everyone was buying them. Now with the D3 benchmarks, finding a 6800GT is difficult now.

420/1150 & a Dell 20.1LCD native 1600x1200. Got a buddy who works @ EB. Should have it by noon on the 3rd. I am glad I didn't wait around for the X800.

 When are you guys going to learn. PNY has been selling them for $399 from day one and still does. They are sold out now, but have delivered 4 shipments to customers thus far, and never raised the price--> http://www.pny.com/products/verto/geForce6/6800gt.asp

There are some vendors that won't gouge customers, but Compuplus isn't one of them. The BFG 6800 GT was $489 last time I checked. It's all about supply and demand. This is THE card to get, bar none. It's $100 cheaper than the X800 XT, and beats it in Doom III.

Ironically, 6800GTs and the BFG 6800 Ultras are now available in the UK:

but we subjects of HM really do have to pay for them...

If you want a 6800 Ultra and are willing to shell out $599 for it, the Tigerdirect warehouse in Naperville, IL has one on the shelves (XFX). Their direct phone # is (630) 548-2000

Thats why I bought mine early, I knew this would happen

Pantherman: Actually, THE video card to get for DOOM III is the 6800 Ultra Extreme. ;) But the GT
is really good, too. :)

07-23-04, 07:55 PM
have Gt's available

07-23-04, 09:50 PM
I saw my BFG 6800GT OC at comp-u-plus, early in the morning on the first day they had availability....it was priced at $395!...I bought it immidiately.
By 1PM on the same day I bought for $395, the price was at $499.

Great deal you got on that GT. :)

Glad my 6800 Ultra overclocks to Extreme levels. As most do. Going to try and get it higher later. Though I'm perfectly happy with it's current clocks.

In stock on the shelf at Fry's San Diego. BFG GT.

07-25-04, 01:42 PM
Well, that's just the thing. It's a roll of the dice, never know what you'll get. With an Ultra Extreme,
there is no doubt. ;) Glad to hear you got a good one, though. :)

Why don't you guys just go into a store and buy one? Fry's had plenty of the BFG 6800 GT's in stock.

07-25-04, 04:02 PM
I reckon that winning the lotery will be easyer to do than get a GT or any 6800 in about 2 weeks time, if Doom benchies continue to show Nvidia as the better cards to play with.

07-28-04, 09:38 PM
Yeah, it seems just about everyone is having a hard time finding any place that has GT's in stock.
And those that do seem to be charging a bunch for them.
