This problem makes my GeForce3 Ti 200 basically useless, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have tried two OpenGL applications so far: VMD-1.8a16 (http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/) and xscreensaver-4.05 (http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/). They have similar but slightly different problems. First, neither makes use of antialiasing, and VMD specifically reports the lack of an AA buffer, despite my use of __GL_FSAA_MODE=4.

Second the apps only work once: when I try to restart VMD, it reports no errors but displays an empty GL window, never even clearing its contents; when I run xscreensaver it will only run a GL screensaver once, displaying only a blank screen the second time it is activated, without any errors.

Actually, running the xscreensaver apps in windows seems to work multiple times, while the -root option has the problem I described...so there is clearly something strange going on. Also, VMD and xscreensaver don't seem to interfere with each other.

You can see my system configuration information (http://www.deconfusion.org/tmp/nv/), including the output from VMD.

Please help!
I'll go play with the NVAGP setting again and see if it has any effect......

Which Linux version of VMD do you run? Or did you
compiled from the sources?

It's the DRI OpenGL version. It's beautiful and fast the first time I run it!

NVAGP doesn't affect anything...

I've the same graphics card installed and going to compile the stuff also with 'debug
option enabled' for the VMD install infos are talking about experimental VMD versions and not all native
OpenGL libraries supporting the hardware based video accelaration are tested. So i'm curious.
Thanks very much for your info about your version, as soon as something is running on my machine i'll
let you know. I'm not sure that the DRI mesa version is really the correct choice.
