Got espn 2k5 today being a little skeptical about it. But in my opinion its better than madden 9 times outa 10.

The only gripes i have about the game are no hot routes and icons are a little to small on the players for the ones you need to throw to. other than that its great!

Is madden '05 out? I was thinking about getting it now that it will have xbox live support.

Madden is due out soon, but I went ahead and picked up ESPN NFL 2K5 this afternoon for $19.99 plus two free months of Xbox live. You can't beat that with a stick!

I believe NFL2k5 uses Normal Mapping (basically better bumpmapping). Looks quite nice, too.

ESPN NFL 2K5 is console only. I know the PC version of Madden uses SM3.0, but that's an unfair comparison. The XBox version of ESPN NFL looks great though.

Don't count out Madden 2005 just yet. Here's an interesting article on Madden 2005 from a Sega fanboy's perspective link (http://cube.ign.com/articles/532/532059p1.html?fromint=1)

You do? While I am not involved directly with Madden development, I am not too sure that SM 3.0 will be implemented from what I have been hearing.

I highly doubt SM 3.0 support will be available when the game is released if my sources are correct...
