I would like to flash my GT to Ultra because my max OC now is 390/1.16. I know heat is not holding the core back because my idle temp is 52c and load 78c this is below average. My question is has anyone done this successfully with BFG Ultra BIOS?

Well, anzak, I have the BFG Ultra BIOS if you need it, and I also have a BFG GT OC with a kinda small OC like you do, I'm prolly gonna flash it within the next few hours, so I'll get back to you on that! SInce its the same brand , It should provide a relatively more stable flash/OC.

It's not the BIOS. nvflash has many security codes to bypass. To do this you must use a security parameter. Ah, here it is! nvflash -r will remove security protection (mismatched boards).

Nope -r only removes the write protection. So far I have tried nvflash442 and 446 both of which give me the same error.

Well, I have flashed 2 times and it "worked", except when I reboot, blank display. I think i've done like 4 or 5 blind flashes back. Anzak man, I'm thinking this aint worth it, especially for me, cause I'm on my PC, but my family uses it. I hate being a teenager. Everytime I flashed with WFFLASH, it always worked, cept with the new BFGULTRA BIOS in WFFLASH, it gives me a checksum error. Damn this.

Finally did it, Using nvidias own GeForce 6800 Ultra BIOS Revision 2. Used WFFLASH. I am going to test for lockup's and temp limits and whatnot. Usually idling at 62C now idles at 66C. Gonna test some games. I'll post back later.

I tried WFFlash.v5.1. "WFFLASH.EXE BFGULTRA.ROM" gives me an error "bad command or file name".

No, it's WFFLASH.EXE NM BFGULTRA.ROM. Make sure to use NM. I just tried 3dm03 at DEFAULT SPEEDS 400/1100 and I got tons of artifacting. I DO NOT recommend flashing GT to Ultra. Just don't do it, no matter how bad the urge is.

Since flashing my GT back to GT, It's been working great. I dunno why I wanted to flash to Ultra, it just isn't worth it.

It's a rumor so take it for what it is worth, but I hear nvflash 441 "is the one to use."

Well that sucked di*k :( Too bad it didnt work out :/ How about if we take a BFG 6800GT OC BIOS, Edit it to 420/1100 and that it says Ultra in control panel etc that would be perfect :) I have been on the lookout for this but all BIOS editors are all outdated! Anybody have any good info on this?

ICE_PIMP I have the EXACT same Idea as you! We need a BIOS editor to edit to 425/1100 and says "Ultra" in contol panel. That would kick so much ass. We need a BIOS Editor damnit. PM me so I can help you searh for one.

DO NOT flash the 400/1.1 PNY GT BIOS here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=36541&perpage=25&pagenumber=5) I had to flash it back blind. Im gonna focus on editing my current BIOS to 1.4v.

Uh, what does modding it to 1.4v do?

anzak

1.4 vcore I should say. Gives more power (volts) to the core 1.4 vs. 1.3. The Ultra BIOS has 1.4v.

I can't get WFFlash to work at all. Keep a close eye on this (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=36541&perpage=25&pagenumber=6) thread. Hopefully xxORBxx will mod GravY's BFG GT BIOS.
