I'm at work now so I am unable to install it. Just wondering if it's a different version for the one that comes with the RC2 of SP2? Thanks.

I believe the one in SP2 is an early build, this is the final stuff.

Are you able to post some screenshots?

Maybe later, I'm downloading the SDK.
The file date of d3d9.dll from my RC0 SDK is June 11th, I remember the one in SP2 is around May, it's obviously out-dated.

edit: the new d3d9.dll was built on July 9th.

Would everyone stop downloading for a few minutes so I can get this. :) Man, it is really slow...and it keeps resetting my connection. Basically 3k to 6k / sec.

Any idea if Nv will deliver new drivers for DX9.0c?

Oh yea, NV will release 9.0c drivers....they've been hyping this stuff up for ages....the whole nv40 line is based on it. The question isnt if..it's when..

If anyone is curious, the SDK has the updated fxc.exe that the FarCry patch readme said you needed. May be interesting to see if you get different benchmark results with the new version.

Ummmm JUST so PPL know........this is a redistribution for SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS, NOT for End users. Of course, you can install it if you like.

it is for end user. ther redist is just what software developers put on their game discs to help spread the latest version of DirectX around

Maybe you should read a little more down the page.

This download provides the DirectX 9.0c end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product
This is the DX9.0c software developers include on their CD for distribution of their games and programs. So yes, this is for end users.

I listed two things. lol Are you saying install the redistribution or install the SDK summer 2004. Both were published today.

So... is this safe to install or would it be wise to wait for the end-user version? Does it matter which one you have installed?

If it aint classed as the latest Direct X here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx) then this do's not interest me. :)
