Good idea. Before anyone gets miffed about this...don't. For our regular membership, these pointless threads just "dirty up" the forums. I'm sure that none of you that create this have bad intentions, it's cool, just a tip though that they're really quite pointless and introduce a lot of busywork for the moderators.

Thanks! :afro:

Ok, well I'll start first I guess, make a good impression or somethin like that.

I'M GETTING A 6800 TOMORROW MORNING YAY!!!!

After begging and fighting and arguing with my wife I'm getting it. Why the hell am I still awake? I should be asleep so I can get to chumbo right when they open. Kinda cool having a GOOD online retailer thats local. I woulda been pissed if they said they'd have to ship it to me....I'm like 20 mins. from them.

C'mon smooth install!

Just installed my BFG GT OC.

Basically did this;

uninstalled drivers;
shutdown
installed new card;
booted up
installed drivers;

everythings working fine.

played some UT2k4 high settings.. think I need more system ram tho.. smooth as silk, except when paging to the HD :), core only reached 60 degrees.

Dunno what the fuss about graphics card size is, I was surprised at how small the card is. It's only about 1 cm longer than my GF4.

Slightly louder tho, but I haven't put my side panel back on yet.

You kidding about size? This things twice the size of my old 9600XT, at least twice as heavy too. This this is a beast.

Got one of the new BFG cards with the new cooling solution on it. Very slick.

I've now permanently jumped ship from ATi.

I'm a graphics ***** and don't care who I lay in bed with. Looks like it will be a 6800 Ultra for a while but who knows next year...

Still waiting for someone to have some 6800 Ultras in stock for more than 15 minutes.

I've just (ish) received an MSI NX6800-TD128. Unfortunately it doesn't work so I'm waiting for their tech support to reply to my email.

Was your previous card a Nvidia one also?

Received and installed my BFG 6800GT OC today :)
Ordered from PC World Component Center in the UK on Monday 26th of July and the card arrived at 8a.m. the very next day.

Upgraded from a bios overclocked Ti4200 to a bios overclocked 5900XT to a 6800GT OC withing the span of 8 weeks (5900XT was a temporary measure for my new rig until 6800's were in stock because i had sold my Ti with my old computer)

6800, OMG what a great card, nVidia have done good this time round. I only owned the FX for a few weeks and it was not that good. This new card is awesome.

6800 runs hot but my case temps have not changed at all :clap:

The thing that is missing from this thread is just where you bought it from and how long it took for you to get it.

Thank you,

The card is about 21.5cm long.

I guess it the motherboard incompatible with the videocard, it will need to update the latest BIOS for motherboard to get the videocard working.

I'm not going to gloat about it, but my BFG Tech 6800 GT OC came in last Thursday. With the exception of no triple buffering in OpenGL, I have been enjoying it.

EDIT: I had preordered it from BestBuy.com on 07/05/2004 and paid about $385 for it.

This (was) the good thing about living in Cali. I just got a wild hair last week and went into a Frys, plunked down my $399, and walked out with a PNY GT. Only 1 in stock, and *not* advertised on outpost.com. Looks like I got lucky for a change. Ho ho ho. :nanahump:

I got my PNY GT a week ago I got it from CompUSA for 301 on that 30% off screw up. I ordered at end of June the 28th maybe? WAited 3 weeks but hey I saved 100 bucks so it was worth the wait. So far this card has been AMAZING.

I work night shift and noticed a EVGA 6800 Ultra on Ebay when I was surfing the internet when I had some free time. It was going for the super low starting price of $850 and the option to "buy it now" for $900. This listing only stayed up for a little over an hour I believe.

Got a EVGA 6800 GT on Monday.. installed it last night on a BS Athlon 2800 proc, 512MB at 333fsb pc. Even though the specs on the pc are low and I haven't reinstalled XP for about a year and a half Im getting about 19K in 3dmark01 and about 50K in Aquamark. Very impressed with this card. Definitely recommended. :clap:

Hmm.. I just tried 3dmark2001, and I only get 17K. Thats with Barton 2.1ghz, 512MB DDR400, and 370 core gpu. I was running it on highest quality mode like.

Got my Gainward 6800 GT Golden Sample today :)

I am very impressed this far, coming from a Radeon 9800 256MB.

I pressed "enhanced mode" in expert tool and clocks went 400/1100.
3Dmark03 gave me 11768 and the games I have tried this far runs
beautifully!

tv-out looks good but a question.. Where do I choose s-video instead
of composite, as it seems to output now ??

Oh..my core temps seems to reach close to 80 degree Celsius (176 degree Fahrenheit) when gaming, I have a terrible hot case. Do I need to worry ??
EDIT: Run that hdr-test for 15 min and temp was 86 degree C.

The "high-temp limiter" is set to 120 degree Celsius..hmm

Over all a fantastic card after first impressions! :)

Got my BFG 6800 GT OC a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with it.
