It's just a shame that after the "launch" of mobile chips, you still have to wait a long time before you can find a vender who uses them.

I wonder how many minutes of battery life you would get with that if you try to play say Doom3 on the plane trip? Bet eh, desktop replacements.

full load == less than 1 hr battery life...

Hey I know this is sorta off topic but how do you guys think UT2004 would run with a GeForce 440 Go? My Latitude 840C has that chip in it and I don't know much about it... Would I be OK in 1024x768 w/all eye candy turned on?

it should run reasonably well..

my gf has a tnt2 level geforce mobile processor and I can play ut2k3 reasonably well on it :) i would assume that you can play @ 10x7 res but perhaps not with the "HOLY SH!T" settings...

Well I would not say well at 1024x768 w/all eye candy turned on. There are some key factors that can limit your profromance in UT2k4 (projectors, texture settings, ect). But with a few tweaks you can get it to run pretty well.

Wish they woulda called it X800 or somethen, so people would realise they are getting 3dc and SM 2.0B support. Other than that it looks nice.

appears Dell already has it listed as an upgrade ($199)

Yea I have given up ever trying to understand how all these companies come up with their model names. Does not seem to be any ryme or reason.... but yea I agree with you..really bizaro when they do that.

I spose it gives a 9800pro level of performance (unlike the previous gens)

its about as close a wild guess as I could come up with...

That would be a hell of a desktop replacement. Too bad it'll run you around $3000 fully decked out.

I am getting a laptop with a GF 6800 UE. That would be hilarious. What would happen 1st do you wager.... the chip burns through the shell, or the battery dies?

Your battery screams in agony, jumps out of the case, and strangles you with the power cord. :p

A Mobile GeForce 6800 Non GT Non Ultra Non Extreme Edition would be enough for me.

I'd prefer that over a Mobile Radeon X800 Special Edition Non Pro Non XT Non Platinum Edition.

I think the mobility 9700 was pretty good. I didnt think the mobility ti 4200 was all that great IMO.

But this should have better power consumption being on 0.13 micron
