A Certain level of bias is expected, I imagine most people here understand not to take everything NV40/Ruined says as gospel when it comes to video cards, And I'm certainly up for challenging some opinions at times. But not every mod has the time to come here and babysit and smack peoples hands. Expecially for being an nvidia fan at an nvidia fansite of all places.

of course Bias is expected , everyone here it is. the diferences is that every one is Biased about something for diferent purposes. My Bias is for Technology and Computer graphics , the biggest fanatic you will ever find. and YOu seems biased for fairness , *which I dont care*. Fairness with old technology is the only reason for the delays of the next generation stuff , future graphics in the gaming industry .you are right if the end result you want is to see everyone happy ,you are wrong if what you want is fast progress in technolgy. So i also dont take anything that you say as gospel ,but the opposite ,many times i think you are completely wrong , but thats because my bias is about progress in computer graphics not to please people.. so thats why you disagree with me. and its perfectly valid because i understand you have a diferent Bias and motives than me. if it were for me ,i will prefer that all games were done using -as minimun- the very latest ShaderModel of Microsoft(or the latest of any other Company in the future who is on top , all i care is about better graphics ,nothing more ,nothing less) (which ever ATI/Nvidia/Matrox support it) targeting as minimun required $200-$300 class hardware. but thats me .. because im biased about technology and computer graphics. i dont want to wait 10 years to see Final Fantasy graphics in games ,*i want them now.* the Irony about this is that most gamers will also will love to see it now Cinematic quality in games, but later you see them complaining (when new games arrives)about why their performance is slow in their old card . so the only way future can arrive earlier is not designing games with legacy hardware in mind , but designing games with *TOp class hardware in mind* . i understand the Big challenge that supporting only semi-TOp to very highend class hardware might be. to leave behind probably 70% of the gamers ,which will not be able to play the new games.. but you can be sure that as soon as revolutionary games begin to show ,people will move there . if Microsoft and Sony and Nitendo can sale millions of consoles with a few dozens of games , many times gamers having more than one console at a time, i dont see why that can't be done in the PC market . once you have one PC ,you dont need to buy everything again all over ,just the most important parts. i understand that legacy hardware support have its merits ,(my last card was a geforce4 ,and never played Farcry until i bough my new GT,no complain here from the heavy hardware requirements ,but the opposite was very pleased to see developers pushing forward the graphics :) but the main reason why i upgraded was just for Doom3). and i know that many gamers deserve to enjoy also the latest games with older hardware. problem is that you can't have it both ways ,Speed in progress and please 99% of the "gamers" with legacy hardware or featurities support that have no future ,but that cost according to Developers a lot of extra work and money and more because the Xbox1 also exist ,so lowered versions of the Pcgame will be perfectly playable there for the people that wants fast performance in cheap hardware. and today prices there are very cheap. Next generation Consoles will proof im right. they will cost you an arm and leg when released, and millions will be sold . so whats happening here? Revolutionary games and graphics is the answer.I believe that price -is not the biggest- motivation in hardware sales , but Good looking graphics.
