I was doing some work for a Nissian/Porsche Racing/Tuning shop (350evo.com, in part with Wright Tuning - Schuitemaker
Motorsports)

They had many problems with their Dell Optiplex gx260 systems. After removing much spyware from the machines, and a backup/reinstall on one machine, due to corrupted system files, I set everything back up for Each Windows XP Pro machine.

After applying Service Pack 1 and all the latest updates, I thought it would be best to go ahead an apply the Service Pack 2 release canidate, which also updates DirectX to 9c and Windows Update to v5. I have had SP2 running on my personal machine I am using now, and it has been the most stable version of Windows to date..... as I am hoping it will be for the Dell gx260's... It also saves a bit of money since one no longer needs to purchase 3rd party firewall/pop-up blocker tools due to the fact in comes with much better versions of the firewall this time, and a built-in IE pop-up blocker. I applied Adaware 6, and AVG Antvirus 6 Free edition...

So far everything is running great.... they use the machines to do Fininacial management, etc, mail server, website editing, parts ordering, graphics....

Seeing how the final build of SP2 won't be out for a little while longer... should i continue to leave the SP2 release canidate there? just curious... liked to hear some opinions

Well if something goes wrong (very unlikely I know) it would be your fault for using beta software. Personally I would rather not having to worry about it (but I'm paranoid like that).

I wouldn't load it on a production machine unless it was to fix a problem that would otherwise require a complete rebuild. I certainly wouldn't mass deploy it. I haven't had problems with it but it's best to err on the side of caution here.
