View Full Version : Question about Doom 3 high settings and 128mb Card

I want to play Doom 3 on high settings, but from what Im reading you have to have a 256mb card for it to run properly. I just upgraded to a eVGA 6800nu 128mb card and my question is, if I enable all the high settings (I play at 1024, noAA, noAF) how will it run? Will it run slow as molases because it'll always be swaping the textures or am I in the clear? Rest of specs:
Celeron D 3.4ghz (oc from 2.4) has the 256K cache. I score 550 CPU 03marks.

The Doom 3 engine was made so that no current computer could run it at maximum settings. You need a 512MB card to run it in ultra high quality mode
With your setup and the settings you play at, you should be able to run it very decently with most things set to high. No one can really say that for sure though, because THE GAME'S NOT EVEN OUT YET!!! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT SETTINGS THERE'LL BE!!!!11
Just be happy with what you have. You'll be able to play Doom very decently. That's all you need to know right now.
