I tried installing the new 61.76 and 61.77 driver with my G4 Ti 4200 128MB and I had big time stutting and OpenGL has texture corruption. Every other driver I installed on the main Display Tab had a big logo with the name Gefore 4 Ti 4200. But these new drivers show Quatro XGL. Everything else in the tab shows hardware with correct info (Geforce Ti 4200 128MB). So I think the problem with this new driver is it doesn't completely configure the driver for the right hardware. Anyone else have this problem and fix it?

u got riva tuner? there is an option in rivatuner that allows you to get the Geforce 4 cards to be detected as Quadro cards

if you changed that change it back to hardware defauly (somethn like that)

Probably just a cosmetic bug. Happens on my Ti4200 also, it's detected properly as Ti4200, but the control panel shows the Quadro name instead in the Logo area. No biggy.

OK then I assume your system is running OK. I used System Restore and yet my system was still hosed. I then just installed one earlier release after another till I was back to the last Detonator release when it finally started working correctly again. Then I updated to the 56.72 release that I was running before the 61.76 screwed everything up and it's working OK again.

And no I don't use Riva tuner. I just use the coolbits option to get the clock tab so I can down clock my card because Forceware seems to over heat it. My Ti 4200 comes at stock speed of 320/610 but with Forceware I can't go higher than 290/610 but my benchmarks still come out the same, so no real problem there.

This is pissing me off. I fixed the texture corruption but the stutter is still there after my system has been inactive for awail. My power management profile is set to always on so nothing should be shutting down the video card. What did these 61.xx drivers do that even a system restore didn't fix.

you should be using 53.03 or 57.72 with that card (newer driver doesn't always mean better )

I've been running the 56.72 drivers for a long time now and I decided to install Riva tuner a few weeks back to see if I could track down what is causing the stutter after the system has been idle for awhile. So guess what, after installing Riva tuner the stutter has gone away, YA! But I didn't even use Riva yet, just installed it late at night so I could mess with it the next day so. I'm afraid to remove now.

Well the 66.93 still have the same problem. Using the Blit options for D3D in RivaTuner helps but the stutter eventually comes back. Also get Textures that change in UT2004 and some corruption in older games but not all the time. Wish I could still use the 56.72 because they where rock solid but Half-Life 2 just BSOD with a memory dump so I had to upgrade. I still think the Logo calling it Quatro4 XGL is more than a cosmetic problem. I tried using RivaTuner to for Geforce4 detection but it looks like any NV25 series card is affected. I have 2 systems with a Ti4200, one generic and one from Vision Tek and they both have this problem. On another system with a PNY Ti 4800 the drivers work OK, no stuttering or Quatro logo but did have to turn off AGP Fastwrites for 61.76/61.77 drivers, 66.93 seems to work with it enabled.

Same here, ti4200 seen as Quadro with 61.76. Just noticed it after using these drivers for last 4 or 5 months.

I never really expected much out of the 60's drivers for this old card, but I'm very surprised that these are the best drivers I've used so far.
