Anyone willing to help an idiot install nvidia drivers would be greatly appreciated. I'm running red hat 7.3
kernel ( 2.4.18-3) . I've tried to install drivers twice and killed my system twice. I've been using linux for a week thought i was doing alright until i tried this.I have read the install instuctions on the nvidia site and still can't get them to work. A detailed walk through would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You really want detailed?
Well, I guess...
Try this (http://3dguios.resnet.mtu.edu/nVidia-NHF.html) page, it won't be around forever (I am going to submit it to LinuxNewbie.org's NHF address, and once it gets posted as an NHF, I'll take it down), but it's my attempt at conglomerating everything that I've ever seen, experienced, and heard about the nVidia drivers. It's supposed to be an NHF (newbieized help file); I'm not real sure how good it is at that, or if there's just too much info there, but oh well. Take a look, and see if it makes more sense then. If not, let me know what doesn't, and maybe I can elaborate (even more ;) ).
HTH, and thanks for being a guinea pig. :D

Quake 3... I believe there are FAQs on installation at www.icculus.org somewhere. But I've never used it, so I don't know for sure...
In an ideal world, the major hurdle to getting it running would be the video drivers. But... yeah. We all know how ideal stuff can be. ;)
Hope you get it working!
