Dont get me wrong. (dont flame) I'm just curious if they are absolutely as bad as people say they are, I have a PCI BFG Geforce FX 5200 OC, and I am curious if these things are as unplayable as everyone says.

I its a 256 meg PCI card actually. I just wonder how spoiled I am actually am.

I was aimingh for 800x600 in Far with no AA/NoAF and 800x600 in UT2004 with no AA/NoAF

I think UT will run ok, but I don't know about FC. The thing was pretty demanding even on a friend's Ti4200.

Well I saw someone with a Geforce 2 MX running it without shader effects at like 30 FPS @ 800x600. So I assume I can get similar.. with minor shader effects

My geforce3 Ti500 can run Far Cry at 1024x768 with medium setting pretty good, every once in awhile you get a slow down. I have fx5200 pci that I just use to run my second monitor so I may give it a try on it.

I have a 5200 in my laptop and it will play UT2k3 at its native resolution (1400x1050)with all the settings turned all the way up. I havent played 2k4 so i dont know if its about the same speedwise or not, but it should be fine.

Farcry on the other hand runs like ass on the 5200, and my old 4200 runs circles around it.

The 5200's really do suck. The only reason i got it in my laptop is because it was the best one offered with the model i bought. It ran games like Warcraft 3, Gothic 2 and such great, but put in games like Halo, Deus Ex 2 or Farcry and it was unplayable with a P4 3ghz.

I own two Gainward 5200 PCI 64MB, and they do not play Far Cry.

I have two FX 5200 PCI cards so I can drive a DVI display from a PCI slot on two different machines. :cool3:
