I cant give one right now because i formatted my PC earlier & have no games installed .
i had some stutterting & corruption in the sounds in CoD with the previous drivers .. i hopes those will fix that .
most other games like CMR04 , Thief 3 & UT2004 runs just fine so i have no problem there .

i'm using Audigy 2 ZS btw.

Hmmm... Installshield went into not responding for me after I told it to go ahead and reboot. Wierd. Maybe a sp2 rc2 thing? I ended task, rebooted, and the driver seems fine so far.

Creative must have tweaked the bass on these drivers. Holy cow - my sub has been going crazy with my music. Not that I'm complaining mind you. ;)

There also appear to have been some additional optimizations because my CPU usage with Winamp has gone down to 0-1% whereas with previous drivers it would be in the neighborhood of 2-5% consistently.

Haven't tested any games yet, but so far so good. :)

I think I'll give these a shot then. Thanks.

When you do the update, I would highly suggest using WinRAR or Winzip to extract the .exe file to a folder and using the ctzapxx program that's located in the "drivers" folder. I've found that method of updating the drivers is much more reliable than using the standard InstallShield.

Maybe its because i have my woofer on a lil desk shelf normally reserved for printers below my pc... but I find my bass to be so deep and booming that sometimes it dominates the sound. Also, is it me or does anyone else find nearly everytime they calibrate their speakers you end up having to swap the speaker wiring around AGAIN.

thats your hearing playing tricks on you.

happens to me all the time!!!!! - thing is the wiring can only be done right ONE way - swapping it when you know its already right is a bad idea.

r u using bass-redirect?

It always tells me to but my wiring is sealed up so I know its wrong. It sounds fine anyway

Installshield worked just fine.

i found out why the bass is louder. (well, my friend told me this)

they maxed out the subwoofer volume bar under "advanced" in the Surround Mixer.

hehe, now i'm thumping with the master volume at 33% and bass at 50%.

I can't remember mine ever being lower than 100% by default. Oh well, the new drivers kick ass for Doom 3.

do these drivers apply to the audigy 1?

Quit using my Audigy 2. Due to sound issues with Doom 3 and Joint Operations. LOL, my nForce 3 audio sounds better than that Audigy 2 anyway.

Creative can take their monopoly and shove it up their arse.

They sure do.

I don't have the Creative mixer installed so I couldn't adjust my bass from there so I used the control on the subwoofer itself. Worked just fine. :)

Do these even work with the Audigy 2 ZS?

That's what they were designed for.
