Echoing the themes of his nomination acceptance speech the night before, Kerry vowed to restore credibility to the White House, while accusing Bush of misleading people over the war in Iraq (news - web sites) and muddling the fight against terror.
"These are dangerous times ... and we deserve a president who tells the truth to the American people," he said.
Kerry and his vice presidential running mate, John Edwards (news - web sites), were accompanied by both their families, as well as Hollywood heart throb Ben Affleck -- doing a bit of goodwill stumping.
Earlier, their bus convoy pulled over at a Wendy's fast food restaurant for a photo opportunity lunch that provided an awkward moment.
Spotting a group of US Marines, Kerry, who has made his Vietnam War service a cornerstone of his campaign, went over to chat. The Marines, who all turned out to be staunch Bush reporters, were not impressed.
"He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here shaking our hands," one of them told reporters afterwards. "I'm 100 percent against" Kerry, he said. "We support our commander-in-chief 100 percent."

Too bad that isn't ANY president. John Kerry wouldn't do it either. All presidents MUST tell lies. If they told us everything a crapload of people would just worry. I am glad I am left without having to know EVERYTHING going on.
heh... i hate the marines, no offense to anyone who is a USMC buff or whatever, but i've met atleast 20 x-marines in my life, and every single one of them thought their **** smelled like roses. i feel i'm at liberty to say this since my own cousin was one of them, and i completely dis-own him. i would say to his face any day (and he knows this) that he can take his ****y arrogent attitude and shove it up his ass. if he were homeless and i had more money than bill gates i wouldn't spare him a penny.

Oh, really? I guess you know the majority? As a former US Army soldier...I can tell you that most military personel won't and won't vote for someone like kerry.

Domestic attitudes aside, Im glade we have military soldiers that are confident in their skills to win.

Which has nothing to do with Kerry ... Everything these soldiers know about Kerry they get from AFR's hour-long broadcasts of Rush Limbaugh. AFR doesn't carry a commentator of the same calibre as Limbaugh. Howard Stern -- even though I can't stand him -- is the second most popular radio show but AFR refuses to carry it because "it's inappropriate". What's so "innappropriate" about Howard Stern -- is it because he's a womanizer or because he regularly blasts The Bush Administration, which MIGHT change the solider's mind away from the stranglehold Republicans have on the AFR and the Military vote.
The last thing Republicans want military grunts to do .......... is think for themselves. It's hard for me to have any respect for the military and I consider them nothing more than the armed wing of the Republican party. They can't think for themselves so they turn around and *points at Limbaugh* follow an idiot!! :retard:

Why should I? NEARLY ALL OF 'EM ARE REPUBLICANS!! They've been conditioned on specific thought, specific ideas, specific rhetoric, all at a controlled cadence for years! How can you get objectivity in THAT?!? One would have to literally go out of their way to find military personell who are politically objective as odds are 1 in about 20-30 grunts are objective enough not to tow either a Republican or Democratic line. Finding a political moderate in the military is hard -- not nearly as hard as finding one that's a die-hard Democrat, though, yet still a daunting task. Therefore, asking the soliders to be objective regarding the content on AFR is about one-sided as asking a room full of Atheists to be objective about Jesus or a room full of Christians what they think about Confuscious or Buddha ...
These two Marines are fighting for us and yet you guys say you support our troops.
We'd like to see them achieve their goals and come home alive -- the sooner the better, yes!

No body said any thing about kissing ass. It is insane to say I support the troops but not their mission. That is nuts. The two are inseprable. There are only two ways for them to come home.
1. they achieve their mission.
2. they fail at their mission and this means by loosing a lot of life.
The second one is where the left falls into. Of course you don't want them to die but if you say I don't support your mission and they cannot leave then you want them to fail and failure leads to massive loss of life and completel with drawal.
