6800 GT OC..want to overclock, but I'm scared..

Hello All,
I would really like to overclock my 6800 GT OC, but I am a little scared to try this. Can anyone give me some advice or tell me what would be a "safe" overclock for the card? Something light to start with? Also, do you guys use any special cooling, or just the stock stuff? Do you keep it overclocked all day? I just don't wanna break it.

i use stock, cooling, just move up your core and memory clocks by 5mhz increments, and then test it out

With the BFG 6800 GT OC you can easily go up to 400/1.1 on the mem and core with stock cooling.

You need to install the coolbits2 registry addition to do it, unless you use rivatuner, but coolbits is a lot easier and has built in tests so it wont elt you set a core/mem without testing it. Go to forceware section and read coolbits thread for info

Just leave it be =) There's no reason to OC your card unless you're going for highest benchmark scores. card is plenty fast enough.

First time is kinda scary.. but if you're up to it, you'll be OCing everything but the toaster when you get a feel for it... hehe
