I just sold my house!!! Yippee!!!!!!


The offer was a little bit of a low-ball, but I countered with what I thought was reasonable, and they accepted. It's a little sad, I've lived in this house off and on my whole life, but it's time to move on. Hehe...now that I have some disposable income, I'm off to go engagement ring shopping :D :D :cool:

Went to this jewlery store everyone reccomended, and to say I was in over my head is an understatment. I mean I knew her ring size would be a chore, I was prepared for that. But all of the choices!!! Settings and this and that and and and....

I went home and regrouped. I took one of her very close girlfriends to lunch for a little strategy session. They both go shopping together pretty often, so next time they do, they are going to go through the jewlery stores. This girl is going to do it innocently enough (or so she promised me), and hopefully I can get some good inside intel on the situation.

If I may offer a suggestion or two....go for quality and not stone size. Also, pick a cut that is clearer and cleaner; I got my wife an emerald cut diamond ring. Only 1/3 carat but looks much larger because of the cut. Really more valuable since it takes a better quality diamond to get an emerald cut. Added benefit of holding it's value longer.

And, it's not something that 95% of the other women have on their hand.
