Quarterback Quincy Carter is expected to be released by the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday after testing positive for cocaine, league sources told FOX NFL Sunday insider John Czarnecki. (http://msn.foxsports.com/story/2638378)

That's too bad. I thought that they were going to have a shot at the title this go round. Carter has really let down alot of people....including me.

Heh, don't worry, my team (niners) has it's work cut out this year anyway after losing Garcia and Owens.

I'm not a cowboy's fan...I've always pulled for teams that played against them....but I hate to hear about things like this happening to them.

I'm not sure why this is considered a tragic loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Vinnie or the rookie Henson would be a better fit anyway.

Last year, I thought Carter was more of a mobile qb than the other qb's...and I thought that gave them a good edge.

It's not a loss anywhere near the level of the Ricky Williams debacle, but it sucks because the offensive system was built around his strengths last year and now that season is a waste, at least for the offense. But yea, I don't expect to lose too much at the QB position anyways. It's just that we may not be running in sync to to start the season and a loss in week one or two is what might keep us out of the playoffs....the NFC East is not looking like a cakewalk this year.

I guess they didn't learn their lesson from Michael Irvin and Nate Newton. :retard:

not that ive ever tried the junk...but cant you get rid of coke from your system in like less than a day? The guy must of done a line right before he went in for the test...what a goombah. Niners lost garcia and ownes? Where'd the go to? Man I havent been keeping up during the off season.

Garcia went to the Browns.

Unless I am being very naive, I thought it took at least 3-4 days to get cocaine out of your system?

Yea, me neither, but I know you can completely clean it out of your system in three days. Carter is denying the coke allegations and the Cowboys refuse to comment so who knows what really happened. Owens went to the Eagles and I have no clue where Garcia landed, but who really cares! :)

wow owens on the eagles and garcia to the browns....maybe the browns can win a few games this year now heh. And I just went to nfl.com and see the radiers released tim brown! Sure he's up there in age, but i'd sign him right away if I were..oh say...the bears. =) (we need all the help we can get...chicago looks to have another horrible year ahead)

being a buccs supporter for the longest time has not been easy for me :D

other than the last few seasons they have been the doormat of the NFL...

at the moment I still dunno what happened other than its supposed to be drugs related but that carter and other people seem to have denied he failed any recent tests...

/me shrugs...

takes 3-4 days for coke to get out of the average person. For an athlete, I'd say more like 2.

Yeah after Tom Landry left the Cowboys, I stopped being a fan.

Makes him look even worse then doesn't it?

To put it bluntly, it makes him look like a ******* moron. Jerry Jones, of course being sympathetic to cokeheads, decided not ruin his career and Quincy's just cleared waivers so any team is free to sign him. Officially, cocaine is not reason he was released - what a joke!

You must be pleased to see Gibbs' return then. I am less than thrilled.

I like Joe but that was another time. He has to build a new team. We shall see.
