Envy?
Both do certain things great, and the rest good. I am on AMd this round, but 2 rounds back, I was on a P4. No fanboy here, just gimme what is fastest...
Baseless assumption?
Fastest depends on what you are measuring. My rig does fine and slaps around quite a few high end AMD's as well. That's in and out of gaming. I am not paying 600-1000 dollars to AMD or Intel. Those X-bit numbers happen to back up my personal experience. The differences between AMD/Intel in theory are large, in actual game play results small. People can do quite well with either company. That is why I say "hype" NOT to suggest AMD isn't any good. Rather to suggest the fanboys go way overboard exaggerating any differences. If someone asks me what AMD they should get I say IMO> 64 3000(OC) 64 3200 (OC) or 3500, not, "Dude, get an Intel."
I applaud X-bit for doing something besides regurgitating the same benches.
I used to think ATi/nVidia fanboys were bad, however I think AMD fanboys have one up on them.
