View Full Version : Kinda low 6800GT score: why??
After checking out some scores people get with benchmarking Doom3, I'm wondering why I'm quite a bit lower than average.
I set the options in control panel to 'application controlled', quality
Doom3 @ 1280x1024, high quality (8xAF, no AA)
Pentium IV 3ghz (Northwood) on P4P800Deluxe
Directx9.0c + 61.77 driver
Timedemo1
first run : 38.7fps
second run : 43.8fps
Seems a bit lower than it should be right? My brother has about the same system with a X800PRO and gets a higher score than I am (which shouldn't be right!) Any advice?

Turn off VSync. That's probably what's doing it, it will limit your timedemo FPS as well.

vsync is off
Thats probably it, make sure that it is off in your video control panel and in the game.
when i had it turned on i was getting 44.7 and now am getting 66.5 with my x800 pro on 1024 x 768.

Yeah something amiss, I get 55fps on the second run with my rig, you should easily be in the 50+ rangee on timedemo1.
re-installed windowsXP, dx9.0c, 61.77 drivers
timedemo demo1, 2nd run
1280x1024, high quality, no vsync, no AA
64.6fps
looks a 'bit' better :)
(also have my PIV 3.0gh oc-ed to 3.45ghz now)
