Has anyone upgraded from the 53.03s to the 61.76s with a 5900 video card? A friend of mine averages 19FPS only in D3 with a 3.0Ghz PC and the specific video card/driver. I'm asking because he's no PC expert and I don't want to drag him through the process of changing drivers if there's no gain. I expect a gain, but how much?

Thanks,
Tony.

Well what game is he avg. 19fps?

The 61.76/77s are a good set. 53.03 tend to be little faster as are 56.72 but its very minimal. Depends on the games you play ect. If playing FarCry I recommend minimal 56.72 set. As for OpenGl games I don't know.

The new drivers are little better in quality especially in AF, however you can always tweak driver settings, even bump to performance and get similar or better framerates then 53.03. The best performance drivers I have tested have been Omegas latest however I had issues getting them installed.

Upgrade to the newest for bug/game fixes if you have any. Some people change drivers like changing underwear.

Cr*p, was half asleep when I posted, sorry about that, I meant Doom 3. Anw, he's already upgraded, from 19FPS he went to 36FPS @ 1024x768 HQ.

I have a BFG5900XTOC and I've tried them all back and forth
Best so far is 62.22's I swear the Certified drivers are junk .
But people feel compelled to install them .To each there own.
