Would be cool to see the performance of 2 sli'ed 6600 cards. Wouldn't that be like 16 pipes? Haha..

Why are they releasing a 6800LE then? This looks faster and will cost less AFAIK.

6800LE has been cancelled wrt retail, but will still leak into OEM channels.

500 core?!!?! did nvidia solve production issues with nv40?!!? ati is doomed.

me thinks 6800 refresh gonna be soo awesome:

550-600mhz core, 1300mhz memory. :drooling:

16 pipelines (or maybe nvidia will pump it up to 24? yeah right keep dreaming hehe)

The 6600 standard was designed to take the 199 segment, And the 6600GT was designed to replace the 6800NU,

From what I can tell, You can find more about these products here.

I think the major reason they haven't gotten the 6800Us above 400-450MHz isn't the process - they did, after all, get the 5950U to 475 and it overclocked to well past that, on the same process. It's the heat and power consumption that's the problem. With only half the pipes, I'd assume it'd become half as much of a problem, ergo they can clock it higher.
I wouldn't expect them to be able to do the same thing for their 16 pipe parts, though, unless they move it to a 130nm low-k or a 90nm process.
