Benchmarking?

Hi,

I just got my new system and would like to do some benchmarking. I haven't done any benchmarking in 3-4 years though so what I know about it is probably extremely outdated.

Could anyone point me to a FAQ on the best way to benchmark certain games and/or my system? Some games that I have and would like to test are:

Far Cry
Doom3
UT 2004
