Based on the duct tape mod (which can be found here (http://ducttape.glenmurphy.com/)), I decided to create a mod to the duct tape mode using the NVIDIA logo:

Installation Instructions:

Download the "pak005.pk4" file from the following URL:

Save the file (pak005.pk4) to your hard drive. Once it is saved, simply copy it to your "/Base" directory inside of the Doom 3 folder and then load Doom 3. When you switch to the machinegun or shotgun, it will come attached with the NVIDIA flashlight. To remove the mod, simply delete the "pak005.pk4" file from the "/Base" directory.

Awesome. Freaking awesome!

EDIT1: I'm confused. The zip appars to contain directories. Do i rename the file (to pak005.pk4)?
EDIT2: Yes, Rename the zip file and drop it into the proper /base subdirectory.

FYI The logo pattern hides the crosshair somewhat. I may look into a bright green crosshair to compliment this mod.

I see this game engine is going to be quite popular, easy to mod for, high quality rendering etc. . cool mod but I think I will stick to my regular flashlight for now.

I don't know how you are downloading it. The file should be named "pak005.pk4". You do not need to "unzip" the file although it is a compressed file. Simply copy the file over to your "\base" folder and then load up Doom 3 and it will automatically initiate itself. Just switch to either the shotgun or machine gun and the flashlight will come on.

Very odd. My IE6 configuration appended .zip to the download. I had to delete it.

perhaps sp2 tries to detect what the file really is when it has an unknown extension and renames it to avoid hacking attempts

fun tweak btw

Note: If you have this mod installed, all your save games will start you out at the beginning of the level, instead of being at their proper point further into the level. Deleting this file negates this bug and you can start your game form exactly where you saved at any point in the level.
