I added an extra gig of RAM to my system (giving me 2 gigs in total) and it reduced my 3D Mark 2003 score by about 700 points!

What's that all about???

Did you do anything before that time when you put it in? Maybe changed drivers or changed some FSB?

Nope, I changed nothing. Just added the extra RAM and booted it up. I later rechecked my BIOS settings just to be sure nothing had changed. The only thing I noticed is that Windows (XP+SP1) grew my pagefile. In fact it controls my pagefile size no matter what size I tell it to use. A bug perhaps? I'll remove the memory and run the benchmark again tonight...

I would remove it and try again like you stated. Try again and if it's better, then im stumped, and if with the RAM it gets better performance in games, then keep it, 3dm isn't everything.

could have something to do with the cache on your hd. Might want to play around with it to see if it helps.
