I am planning on getting rid of my system:
Athalon 3200/K7 Triton mobo
Geforce 5900-128 ram
Viewsonic 19" VX9000
And i want to get Amd Atahalon 64 3200 with a new PNY nVidia GeForce 6800 GT AGP8X 256MB

This upgrade is about $900-1000 dollars...any advice? I am mostly concerened with the improvement between vid cards. I am not complaing with my current system, i just want to upgrade in hopes of better vid quality.

Also, can anyone suggest vid setting for Battlefield Vietnam? Its slightly choppy.

thx for any imput.

The 6800GT is a big improvement over that 5900. ~ double the framerates. Anyways, IMO that processor/Mobo combo is not a worthy upgrade over your current set up. If I was you I would wait for a the socket 939 CPU's to come down in price.

AMD is moving from 940 pins to 939 pins in the Athlon64's. So therefore you'll be able to get newer processors whereas those of us with the 940 pin processors won't without buying a new motherboard.
