ok. will give example. riptide just replied to this thread, he should of posted a comment about my pc. but being a n00b and all...lol j/k....

here is my comments on riptides system:

Looks very fast and powerfull. The enthusiasts dream pc. Perhaps should of gone with a nforce 3 250 motherboard. Cant see any future upgrades needed.

so yeah basically just comment on the pc and then suggest some improvements that could be had.

I am replacing my motherboard if MSI ever gets around to sending some to monarch. Then I will have the nforce3 250. :)

That is the only thing I want to change, other than going with the thermalright SLK948U and my enermax 90mm fan (both sitting in a closet now).

W/regard to YOUR system, I would have to say it's not quite a "dream" machine but in the upper 25th percentile of enthusiast boxes. You're replacing that 9800, which is a good move w/the GT. Nice motherboard, CPU... Room to upgrade there ofcourse (to a 64 bit system) but definitely more than passable for any current game IMO.

There, that better?? :p

Now I'm not sure if I should rate Riptide or DaveA, guess I'll have to do both, and the next person will get me :)

Dave A - nice rig, decent overclock for a Tbred. Looks like a great system, even for newer games like Doom3. Excellent choice on motherboard, CPU, Video card.

Riptide - what can I say, your system absolutely ROCKS. Probably one of the best PC's I've seen. My one and only problem is of course the motherboard, I can't stand VIA, and your problems with Abit really struck a cord with me. It pisses me off you've had so many problems. But other than that, it's a frigin powerhouse!

Now someone rate me  my specs are in my sig

Nice Clawhammer CPU, nice board, lots of RAM, video card can still stick with the best of them, nice TV card, great PSU, Western Digital makes good drives, Lite-On makes great drives, Plextor makes great drives, NEC makes good stuff, I have the black Dragon case and love it, Using XP Pro SP2 myself, and NEC LCD's are great.

Now me!

Nice system mattken, I particularly like the mobile athlon. I've been hoping to burn out my CPU tp give one of those a shot before my next system upgrade, but doesn't look like that'll happen. Although seems like a waste of money to have PC4000 memory and only crank the FSB to 210 (I can get mine to 220). All in all, a very nice system that would do any gamer proud..

Holme's rig looks nice. But, waht kind of Corsair have ya got ? And, are the 2 WD in raid0, raid1 or single ?

Gainward FX PP! Ultra/880 (FX 5700) (waiting for the Zalman ZM80D-HP)

SB Live!
Enermax Noisetaker EG375AX-VE SFMA 370W
Enermax UC-A3FATR2 3.5" dual fan controller

Y's Tech 8cm thermo-controlled fan on the rear exhaust
Silverstone Temjin TJ-04 Black
Philips DVDRW228K
LG 8240B

Looks like a good, stable system for the purpose it was intended for and still capable of gaming if need be. Lot's of Enermax goodies are a nice addition also. I like the touch of having a backup HD at all times - I could have used that last week when I got my 6800 Ultra in!

Sweet lord it's another powerhouse! That's a damn impressive rig. Can't go wrong with aluminum cases, A64 FX53 S940 still rocks even if it does use the older socket, and although it's a shame you had to spend the extra money on ECC RAM at least you got the quality stuff ;). And paired with that video card and all those peripherals, safe to say you got one of the finest gaming rigs I've seen. Good work http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif

Nice Rig Ultimate, you just need to overclock some and you'll be ready to rock :). I need to pick me up an Audigy 2 I think, although my Game Theatre still does a nice job.

My complete rig is as follows

Abit AV8 running an AMD64-3500 at 258x10 (2580mhz)
1 gig of Geil Ram @ CAS 2 x 214mhz
Evga 6800GT@460/1200
Iiyama 21" Monitor (sweet)
Hercules Game Theatre 5.1 w/ Creative 5.1 surround speakers
Lite-On 52x CDRW
Sony 32X DVD

System is watercooled by an Blueline HD30 Pump with a dual 120mm fan and radiator setup. CPU Temps stay in the 40-44 degree range and GPU in the 52 degree range while running rthdribl and Prime95 simultaneously :)
