I was going to get one to overcome the VDD issue onf the IC7-Max3.
But since I've got an 939 FX-53 setup on the way(I backed out of the 3500+) I shoudn't be needing one :)

You can get it for $49.99 at SVC.com. I don't know what price you were looking at, but don't pay more than that.

Watch your voltages with these things guys... I've heard they can fluctuate somewhat which would be a baddy. :)

The booster didn't help much. The board has some sort of over-volt protection which prevents VDimm over 3.1v. I could get a few extra MHz on my RAM using it, but it wasn't worth the trouble. Too many reboots. The voltage doesn't hold steady. Even if you set the booster to, say, 2.9v, it may jump to 3.0v or even 3.1v. Once the booster hit 3.1v, it usually caused a reboot.

This may only apply to his motherboard. Not sure, but it's something to at least keep an eye on.

I tend to steer clear of stuff like that. Whenever I attempt to tweak the hell out of my system something ends up breaking.

When I see those kinds of ingenious products, my tinkering spirit engulfs my common sense. My knee-jerk reaction was to order one from SVC. Since I live 4 miles away, UPS ground should have it here on Tuesday. Bwah ha ha!

Im not going to bother using mine after testing with it. I could run the ram @ 3.4v if i wanted to, but its so hot id rather not take the risk. It let me OC by mushkin upto 240FSB 1:1 but with not having 0.5 dividers on the CPU i actually get a better overall OC running 255 x 10 with the ram @ 5:4 and not worry about having the booster in my system.

The calibration is tough on it too, the little adjuster is so sensitive i can see some people frying their ram if they arent careful.
