Hi.

I have:
Win2K
GF FX5200
ForceWare 61.77

On a freshly booted system everything is fine.
I tried GLdiag (http://www.spacecad.com/download/GLDiag.exe) and it detects OpenGL hardware acceleration etc.
After I run CounterStrike 1.5 (which runs fast and fine, BTW.) and quit it
GLdiag doesn't detect the hardware acceleration anymore. When I then try to
run CS again, it (CS, *not* Windows) gives me an error saying s'thing like The selected OpenGL mode is not supported by your video card (Sorry, don't have the correct wording at hand).

The only solution then is to restart Windows... :-((

I already tried installing older driver versions (5x.xx, don't remember exactly)
with no luck.

What the f**k is going on here ?

TIA

Stefan

did you upgrade or install anything recently?

Hhhmmmm....
Since the last time I played CS (~1yr): Definitely!

The last things I remember to have installed are some apps. for digital camera
and digital camcorder.

After searching the forums again (I thought, I did that...) iI noticed there are many other
people having that 'OpenGL lock' problem. I will try ForceWare 62.20 beta drivers and
also update my VIA 4-in-1 drivers (yes, MSI MoBo).

OK...I answer myself again.
I installed ForceWare 62.20beta, latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers, disabled everything in the
Startup folder, and in the 'Run' entries in the registry.
I don't known what exactly made it work again but now it works. I'll try to re-enable
those things step-by-step and see what causes the trouble.

Yeah, CS rocks again :-))
