Ok so i just sold my 9800 pro and for about 2 weeks i have to use one of these three cards before i can order a 6800 GT. which is the best:
ASUS V3800 32MB TNT 2 AGP
ASUS TNT2 VANTA 8MB AGP
PNY GEFORCE 2 MX 200 32MB PCI
yeah they all pretty much suck but thats all i got to choose from. :lame:

gotta go with the 32 meg agp card. first, pci sucks no matter how you slice it and that 8 meg card will get laughed off the playground, since it has a very small amount of memory.
GF2 32mb PCI is the fastest of those three

GeForce2 PCI 32MB is better than TNT AGP 32MB.

I agree with everyone else, use the Geforce 2. It may suck as well, but its still quite a bit faster than the other two.. and that 8Mb card.... eek... be carefull where you store that thing, it might make other parts slower just by being near them :D

Hey, don't knock the GF2 PCI. That card is more than capable of running Q3 at 1024x768, medium details. I know, I had one in an old rig of mine. :)

lol i just ran ut2004 with it ran fairly well. 800x600 all settings to low or off. 16bit. not bad imo.
also ran far cry low settings at 800x600 at 5fps. haha
Ofcourse the GF2.. The other card eventually might cause a fried AGP port and that is not what you really want :)

Same here. My old 1.4 GHZ system didnt have any agp slots and this was the best pci card at the time...basically still is. Only difference is I had the 64MB version....running ut2k3 at 640X400....oh man...memories. From what I remember quake 3 arena ran very well with the card...I later upgraded to a radeon 9100 pci....fastest pci card to be found....until later when I got my old 2.66 GHZ machine WITH agp, I found out they had made a 5600 pci, but by then I was using a ti4200 with a sigh of relief. :::looks at sig::: i;ve come a long way since then...sniff sniff.
Anyways GF2 has my vote. But to be honest...I wouldnt even try gaming with any of those cards...i'd just put one in so u have video display and can surf the web, etc. Save the gaming for when u get the 6800 =)
Heh, from what I've heard, the 9100 PCI actually slaps the 5600 PCI around pretty good...

browsing web? are you kidding? scrolling fast down a web page with many images causes a slight lag lol. i got my fingers crossed that fridays paycheck is big enough for me to get a 6800 GT

The GeForce2 MX is the best of that bunch. I remember when I had my MX 400. It wasn't that bad for a budget card. All three of those cards are relics though.
To be honest, I almost think AGP is overrated. Of course I'm sure it helps a lot with newer cards, but in most early cards it didn't really make a difference at all (hell, even the Voodoo 5 *only* used PCI bus speeds, and it still managed to be as fast as a GF2 AGP much of the time). I remember back when the TNT2 came out, I thought of AGP like I think of PCI-E now. So yes, a GF2 varient of any type will beat the crap out of pre-Geforce card, even if it is PCI.
