Infact it SUCKS, it SUCKS, it SUCKS. For those that dont have cable like me and my M8's the coverage is a wash and terrible. NBC which is carrying it for regular TV, seems to be showing a continues loop of swimming and gymnastics as if we are in a Twillite Zone. Its as if the Olympics consists of just swimming and gymnastics the way they have been covering it. Track started two days ago so thats a relief and they showed a little bit of volley ball and basketball but thats it. Not one game of the women baseball team which is on fire, Judo, Karate, shooting, a soccer or boxing match all of which started days ago. They could atleast give a 1/2 hour recap coverage of the events there not covering as much. I dont know if there showing these events on cable but the Olympics is about many games and the least these idiot program directors can do for regular t.v viewers is show all the games. :lame:

If you get it on cable or satellite watch the Canadian TSN feed.

you have a point :)

using bravo/msnbc and nbc they are providing pretty decent all round coverage...

thus far more of the american atheletes have been in the pool and in gymnastics so most of the coverage has been centered around them...

the coverage is leaps and bounds better than it was for sydney...

events like badminton and more obscure sports are covered on the other channels... I coulda personally done w/o the multitude of synchronized sports but again NBC will show sports where popular americans are competing...

fortunately atheletics is taking precedence now :)

there are recaps in the evening of some of the more obscure sports...

I agree the coverage is not that great but its better than it has been and thats positive

Bah!

Yeah, if you don't have cable it would suck but otherwise its easily the best coverage of any Olympics to date.

It's on 5 different channels for nearly 24hours a day with coverage of just about everything you could think of.

yah, NBC really does suck. luckily, TSN and CBC carry events live, and they show a lot of sports that would never make it on NBC: fencing, shot-put, highjump, 10km women's run, speed walking, 100m hurdles (sigh, poor Perdita), woman's wrestling (sorry, no mud), etc ... it's a more balanced broadcast, and doesn't only focus on Canadian athletes.

lol..well no offense but if they only focused on Canadian Athletes you'd have about 30 minutes of air time a day.

NBC is just showing the sports that they know the majority of people who get their station want to see, i don't see how that makes them suck. Besides NBC owns all the other stations that are showing the Olympics on cable and they show all kinds of stuff including all the sports you list and more, in fact i've personally watched all of those events over the last few days and i don't get TSN or CBC.

But they point is for those that dont have cable or satillite there broadcast sucks because 90% of it is swimming and gymnastics even 11 days later. It should be a more broad view. They cant believe the average American view is that narrow that all they want to see is other Americans winning gold medals is those 2 sports events for hours on end with 50 other sports going on. They paid billions to be the broadcaster and there doing a lousy job for the regular viewer. It almost makes no sence and its also a great disservice to the other American athletes in lesser known sports that there family and friends cant even get a gimpse of them. I wanted to see the American soccer team run around in their little shorts catching balls.

Mezkal I envy you for getting it 24/7.

I watch the delayed telecasts of the Olympics on NBC HDTV. Of course I am more interested in the women's events where they show a lot of skin.
