I wish someone would make a map with extremely high rez textures and extremely high polygon counts so we could see what the engine can do :)

Doom 3 multiplayer is bizarre. It plays like slow-motion Quake 3 with slightly deadlier weapons.

Just to let you guys know, I just set up a server "holmes' Doom3 server" that has all the maps linked to. Some of them are actually very well done. If nobody plays them, then noone has a reason to make them...

err. but is a Quake3 level map.. hehe
there is still room for more graphics eye candy in quake3 today and the game is years old,so it will take several years until level editors push the Doom3 engine to its limits..

if you have quake3 give it a try that map (http://www.planetquake.com/lvl/comments.asp?id=1555) ,its awesome ,not only looks good ,but plays great. and you will have more ideas also about the diferences quality textures can do in a game. :)

Damn! Some of those maps look on the level of UT2004... I gotta dust off my copy of Q3...
