Guys, after recently getting bad card from MSI i've narrowed my choices down to either Gainward or Leadtek? Any recommendations?

What's wrong with eVGA? :D

Nothing that I'm aware of esp. since eVGA products come with Far Cry and have trade up feature, but was looking for a card that had best overclocking potential.

I wouldn't even get a 6800 nu when you can have a 6800 GT for only $100 more. It's VASTLY SUPERIOR to the 6800 nu. eVGA and BFG are among the best vendors. Don't discount PNY's cards. They're also very good.

LeadTek A400 non-ultra (6800nu) is good..also MSI 6800nu is good
Get any non-ultra that comes wid a custom cooler. They generally overclok better. Ive heard this new inno3d 6800 coolViVA premium thing is supposed to be good.. but still to wait for reviews.
I feel MSI is best at the moment, better than ASUS 6800GE, price-wise.

I just got the XFX 6800 card and like it a lot. Paid $269 total. It has dual DVI outputs which was very important to me since I use 2 lcd monitors. Also, the memory came factory set to 750mhz instead of 700. I've been able to overclock the core to 350 with no artifacts so far. Will try and push it a further tonight.

Good Luck

Just choose the 6800NU card that is the less expensive. I went with Leadtek because it was the least expensive in Canada.

You don't need a 6800 GT like some dude said, it is not vastly superior. I get at 12x10 High quality Doom3 65fps avg with my A64 3000+. Why would you need a GT? To get to 75+? Woohoo that really justifies the 100$ more! :lame:

The MSI 6800

Already tried that one, it was DOA and after viewing MSI forums, this is happening far to often. I've decided on Gainward since it has higher rated memory. Thanks to all that responded.

It seems more people than might be expected have been getting MSI 6800NUs which have been displaying artefacts (including me).

At the time of purchase I would have preferred the MSI card of all other brands as I have a quiet computer. The Leadtek was the only one available. It was quiet and sooo much cheaper than a 6800GT, so I went ahead and bought it. (where I live gt costs almost twice the amount of NU).
I am so happy I got this card. I just couldn't be more happier with it. It is very quiet, and overclocks like crazy. I haven't tried to find the max oc yet(did't even think I was able to get this far), but I'm running it at 400/815 totally stable. I don't see any reason to go further as all games are already CPU limited (1700xp). Even though the MSI card is quiter, reviews indicate it doesn't overclock as much as the Leadtek. I'd only recommend the MSI card now for those that have super-silent pc's. I atleast love this Leadtek 6800, it just rocks!
and FWIW I got 9200 in 3dm'03 with my very limited system at 400/815 and 66.00.

I would go with the BFG 6800 OC as well, it comes stock at 350/700 and im running mines at 350/900 stable 55c idle 62c load

The 6800NU is a fine card, but check out my post on NU softmodding if you need justification of GTs $100 extra. The GT was twice as fast at Far Cry over 10X7.
