View Full Version : Unpartition Magic?

Hey guys. I was prepping my system up for a windows reinstall for an upcomming review. I backed everything up on a secondary hard drive and well..

As I was speeding through removing the extra partitions on my primary hard drive to be a different sizes I also unpartitioned the secondary hard drive. YAY.

I have not touched the secondary hard drive since. Now as far as I know now that the partition table on that drive is gone, everything on that drive is pretty much lost... but I'm hoping there's a slither of a chance that somebody out there knows what I can do to recover the data, other than sending it off to some data recovery firm and pay an arm and a leg for it.

Here's hopin. ;)

Try running a chkdisk on that drive from within Windows. I screwed up the hard drive that had all my backup data on it, and running this built-in util recovered all of it.

Good luck. :)

PartitionMagic can recover deleted partitions.

These tools might help if do not have access to it:
TestDisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/index.html?testdisk.html)
gpart (http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/76201/gpart/)

Not sure if any of those tools can recover dynamic disk configurations however.
