You guys think this will be any better than the stock cooling on my PNY 6800 Ultra? I know there is a gap where the ram is but I think I may be able to fit some ram sinks on there. I'm thinking of getting this but not if it doesn't make any difference in temps.

are you sure its for the ultra? cuz we know that inno3d use it for the 6800nu.

That's my concern as well but their site claims that it is compatible with most VGA cards by Nvidia and ATI.

Wow. That is a pretty sweet cooler. It'd be great if it fits on a 6800 Ultra...

No price though.

Just some advice.

I tried the new Zelman 80D with FAN on my Ultra and put it on with the most thoughtful meticulousness. I used arctiv s 5 on on all the contact spots. lapped the connection posts, fit it together perfectly and WAM! dissapointment.

My stock cooler with AS5 paste was 48C idle / load 62C
The Zelman with FAN was 59C idle / 79C load.

THe NV5 cooler was tried next, AS5 paste,
idle 56C / load 68C
side note - the NV5 cooler shields the aluminium heatsink near the power supply on the card, the plastic looked like it was yellowing above it.

Wnt back to stock cooler, getting 48C idle / 62C load

...and i'm not trying anymore of these aftermarket solutions.

I would not reccomenda heatpipe solution for a 6800 ultra. I tried it and was out the expense and the shipping.

The only video card heat pipe solution that seems to work, is the stock one on my ol' 5800 Ultra dustnbuster (at the price of noise). You have got to give that solution credit -it was a copper multi-heatpipe cooler that sucked cool air in from the outside and blew it back outside when it was warmed up. No affect on the case and the card was receiving outside air.

My 6800 ultra is from MSI and has a copper single slot cooler. I like it best especially after the mess with the Zelman and the NV5. Both products are HYPE - not function.

All Coolermaster cooling solutions look really cool and you get blown away by the eye candy but they usually aren't all that good at bringing temperatures down. I'd stay away from them.

Must be an NVDA thing. :p

My idle/load temps dropped 10c with the ZM80D-HP and optional fan.
